About Family Gamer

Family Gamer helps parents find games the whole family will enjoy: board games, card games and video games that work across ages and fit into real family schedules.

It's run by a game designer and parent. Every game on the site is one that families keep coming back to: easy to teach, fun for adults as well as kids, and worth the money.

How we choose games

• Fun for everyone. If adults are just putting up with it, it's not on the list.
• Easy to teach. Most games here can be explained in ten minutes or less.
• Replayable. Games should still be fun the tenth time.
• Honest ages. We show the publisher's age or ESRB rating, and tell you when we think kids can play younger or should wait.

How the site is paid for

Links to stores are affiliate links. If you buy a game after clicking one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. The site may also show a small number of ads. Neither affects which games we recommend.
